Race bred steel

You remember that scene from Days of Thunder where Harry’s building Cole’s race car? Well that’s what its like every time we build one of these! The DSS4 uses the most advanced steel tubing, the worlds finest frame finishing components and the excellent Columbus Futura fork. Building into an extremely capable steel race machine, ready to thrash it out at the pointy end of any race, or push hard on a fast road ride.

The bike has been race tested under the legs of Kibosh Racing, grabbing wins and podiums, with team members wowing spectators with the bikes incredible handling. Here’s what Josh Greet, Kibosh Racing Chief had to say about his own DSS4 machine:

“I am cornering twice as fast as I used to with the bike giving me a shit tonne of confidence. It feels so planted at all times. No skipping rear end whilst sprinting, just going forward very quickly.”

I think “twice as fast” may be a slight exaggeration, but you get where he’s going!

The frame is based around the incredible Columbus HSS tube set, Columbus’s ultra modern, hydro formed, oversized tubing. It builds into a stiff, direct frame, but never loses that steel feel and the confidence that brings. Something that will gain you many more seconds than simply counting grams.

Featuring an oversized opposed oval down tube, a heavily ovalized top tube and beautifully smoothed in wide set seat stays, putting stiffness where it’s needed. It makes an ultra modern frame, all with that feel of a finely tuned steel machine.

Finished with silver brazed, stainless steel braze on’s and bosses, including dead ended bottle bosses to reduce water ingress. These hidden details make sure your frame is ready to go season after season…

Available in both calliper and disc braked versions.

Josh Greet - Kibosh Racing Chief

I have ridden and raced a mix of steel and carbon bikes over the past 30 years. From my prized steel Robert Millar Peugeot in 1984 to various carbon rigs including the notable Cervelo RS frame which I raced extensively prior to Tom's build. In my experience to date, the Donhou HSS Columbus steel is hugely more responsive when racing and training than any carbon bike. The DSS4 is stiff, light and built to race crits and longer road races, both of which I have testament of last year. Yes it carries a tad more weight than carbon, however, this is offset in spades by the certainty it gives you in full flight, cornering and over the longer distance road races.
