Recent Work
So we don't loose track of what we've been up to, we like to post some of the current work from time to time. Here are a pair of particularly nice frames. An exploded Mondrian DSS1 and a Rapha x Liberty DSS3.
We've produced a couple of Mondrian inspired paint jobs in the past and when asked by the customer, its always a little daunting, as Mondrian is now so much a part of cycling's visual language thanks to Look and others. The challenge is how do you make it your own?
For this one we had a budget we needed to work to too. And this is a great example of how clever design can make the most of this. A typical Mondrian style paint job will have lots of complicated masking and lay overs. To save on that time, we blew the Mondrian up! Saving on paint time and at the same time creating a fresh and dynamic take on that classic Mondrian.
We worked with Rapha back in 2016 on a pair of bikes - a road bike and a town bike to support the launch of their new womans range, in collaboration with Liberty of London. Taking the Liberty print, we worked up this design, with Liberty's shimmering print design fading behind a black candy. You see the original bikes here.
