Donhou Top 10 // No.1 - Allana's town bike

Alanna recently sent through some pics of her bike as she enjoys some freedom again, with the lockdown being relaxed over in Berlin. Every time I see this bike I say to myself: “You know what, out of all the bikes, I think this is my favourite…”. And it got me thinking about whats been built here at Donhou over the last 10 years. Yes, 2020 is Donhou’s 10th year! We’ve been a little quieter than normal I know, a lot has changed here in 2020, but more of that in another post…
After seeing Alanna’s bike again, and getting a little sentimental, I thought I’d use the lock down time to reminisce. Over the coming days, I’ll be posting my top 10 Donhou bikes ever. Starting right now with my favourite custom build of them all….

No.1 // Alanna’s town bike (2012)

When this project began Alanna sent through images of beautiful emerald adorned silver art deco jewellery. I took that and ran with it. The bike features bi-lam construction on frame and fork, custom bar stem combo, some clever internal cable routing, unique labyrinth seat post (more on that later), twin seat stays, one of a kind Donhou chain guard and even has a custom suicide shifter.
Knowing how well the bike resonates with it’s owner, it’s perfect proportions, killer stance, timeless aesthetic and all finished up with @paulcomponent and @brooksengland finest Honey leather, I just see this bike and think... “Yep….” #donhoutop10
